FACT OF THE DAY: Duracell premiered a battery-powered drum-playing pink plush bunny with a European commercial in 1973. However Duracell never filed a trademark in the United States for its “battery bunny” character. Fifteen years later, Energizer stole the ad concept, debuting the Energizer Bunny with a US commercial. Per a 1992 agreement, Energizer is allowed to use the bunny in the US, and Duracell to use it elsewhere.
