FACT OF THE DAY: A single mountain lion, named P22, lives in LA’s Griffith Park (which includes the Hollywood sign and Griffith Observatory). When he was captured and radio-collared in 2012, he weighed 120 pounds and was about three years old. P22 must have crossed two major freeways—the I-405 in Bel Air and the 101 in Hollywood Hills—to reach the park. P22 was captured again in 2014 to receive treatment for mange.
