FACT OF THE DAY: During a major-league game on May 27, 1981, Kansas City Royals player Amos Otis hit a ball that rolled slowly down the third-base line as Otis made it safely to first. Third-baseman Lenny Randle got on his hands and knees and blew on the ball, causing it to roll out of bounds and resulting in a foul ball. This was not against the rules, but the umpire officially ruled it an in-bounds hit.
