FACT OF THE DAY: On March 12, 1951, Hank Ketcham’s comic “Dennis the Menace” debuted in US newspapers. Five days later, a completely unrelated comic also called “Dennis the Menace” debuted in the UK. Though the strips share a similar premise about a mischievous boy, they were created independently of each other.
