FACT OF THE DAY: As Hal Wilkerson on “Malcolm in the Middle,” Bryan Cranston would frequently hum and whistle improvised tunes. Since they were legally Cranston’s original work, he was invited to join the songwriters’ union, and subsequently received royalty checks that he would spend on crew parties.
