FACT OF THE DAY: In October 2006 a traffic jam on Austria’s A2 highway was caused by 40 dead birds found laying in the road. Upon inspection it was discovered that the birds had been extremely drunk at the time of their death; berries in the surrounding forest had fermented and provided enough alcohol to intoxicate animals that ate them.
