FACT OF THE DAY: In 2009 a team of robbers stole $6.8 million worth of jewelry from a German department store. DNA from a latex glove left at the scene identified one of two twin brothers, but could not identify which. Even though at least one and probably both brothers were demonstrably guilty, police were forced to release them, since they couldn’t finger either one. The case remains technically open.
