FACT OF THE DAY: In August 1980 at a 3M tape-making plant in South Carolina, a conveyor belt of tape moving at high speed accidentally created an extremely strong magnetic field that workers were unable to walk through. A production manager said he "didn't know whether to fix it or sell tickets."
