FACT OF THE DAY: The Hanging Gardens of Babylon are the only ancient wonder of the world whose location has never been confirmed. It’s believed that they were actually the royal gardens at Nineveh, an artificial oasis built by King Sennacherib that was watered by an elaborate system of aqueducts and mechanical water screws. When ISIS vandalized the Nebi Yunus shrine at Mosul in 2014, the damage revealed the ruins of Sennacherib’s palace for the first time.
