FACT OF THE DAY: Ranch dressing was invented by plumber Steve Henson in the early 1950s while he was working in the Alaskan bush. In 1954, Steve and his wife Gale opened Hidden Valley Ranch near Santa Barbara, CA where they named it and served it to guests.
