FACT OF THE DAY: Kæstur hákarl, or “treated shark,” is a national dish of Iceland consisting of grey shark that’s hung to dry and allowed to decompose for 4-5 months. The resulting meat has a strong natural smell of ammonia; Anthony Bourdain described kæstur hákarl as "the single worst, most disgusting and terrible tasting thing" he has ever eaten.
