the cupholders just returned from a booking conference that is 50% getting people to come near you and talk to you. ace had the brilliant idea of having a mini golf hole in our booth to bring people over. we let them shoot and if they made a hole-in-one they won a free cupholder shirt. then after they shot, we gave them our shpeel about improv and all that. it worked really well for roping people in.
so, i think we should do this at first thursday. we can set up the hole in an open area and give people flyers as they pass, flyers if they shoot. if they get a hole-in-one, we give them two AIC passes or even a shirt. or if they get a hole-in-one, our resident roupe for the evening, who is near the hole, will perform a one-minute scene of the person's suggestion.
we also gave people stickers that said "I SUCK AT GOLF" with our agency name and booth number so people could stick that on themselves and it was instant advertising. we should do that, too.
we would need some staff to run the specifics of the hole, some flyerers, maybe a dedicated improv troupe to serve up a sample occasionally.
The next first thursday is all about promoting wafflefest, coldtowne theater, and individual show schedules.
