FACT OF THE DAY: 9-year-old Emma Zajdel broke the Maryland state fishing record on June 30 when she caught a 66.5-inch, 94.6-pound cobia. The fish was both longer and heavier than Emma. In June of last year, 10-year-old Lily Hornish caught a 333-pound halibut on a fishing trip to Alaska.
