FACT OF THE DAY: In the summer of 1945, Kodak received complaints from customers that X-ray film they’d purchased was defective and exhibiting spots. Kodak researcher Julian Webb determined the spots were contamination by "a new type radioactive containment not hitherto encountered.” Webb had inadvertently discovered evidence of US atomic bomb testing.
