FACT OF THE DAY: During the 1990 American invasion of Panama, dictator Manuel Noriega took refuge in the Vatican Embassy. Occupying troops played rock music at high volume to encourage Noriega to surrender, but it wasn’t until they began playing “Feliz Navidad” on a repeating loop that he surrendered. According to journalist Guillermo Hernandez, Noriega’s first words upon leaving the embassy were: "That fucking song. That fucking song. Why couldn’t you just keep playing Led Zeppelin?”
