FACT OF THE DAY: In 2013, a passenger at Xi’an Xianyang International Airport in China purchased a first-class ticket on China Eastern Airlines, then enjoyed complimentary food and drink in the airline’s first-class lounge. He then went home, rebooked his flight for the following day (at no additional cost), and enjoyed free lunch the next day. The customer reportedly used the first-class lounge service over 300 times before the airline caught on and barred him from entry—after refunding the cost of his original ticket.
