FACT OF THE DAY: Hollywood producer Joel Silver (Lethal Weapon, Die Hard, The Matrix) is credited with inventing Ultimate Frisbee while attending Columbia High School in Maplewood NJ. In 1968, Silver made a motion on the student council to introduce Frisbee to the curriculum. He then coined and copyrighted the name of the sport, whose rules evolved in subsequent years.
