FACT OF THE DAY: Since the spring of 2013, the village of Kalachi, Kazhakstan has been repeatedly struck by an unclassified sleeping sickness, causing a dozen or more residents at a time to begin falling asleep randomly or experience periods of total memory loss. Up to 150 of the town’s 600 residents have fallen victim, and scientists have thus far failed to identify the cause.
