FACT OF THE DAY: During periods of drought, buried objects can cause the grass above to grow in a different color; this is known as cropmarking. Cropmarks that appeared during a 2010 heat wave in Britain revealed 60 new archaeological sites, including previously undiscovered Roman forts and prehistoric villages. Cropmarks have also demonstrated that Stonehenge was once a complete circle.
