Turning Improv into Sketch 8p-10p (4-week workshop)
ADVANCED IMPROV
Many experienced performers don’t have opportunities to take workshops or get notes. If you are in a rut and haven’t felt like you have had a ‘good show’ in months or if you would like to take yourself to the next level this workshop may be for you. This class is specifically designed for experienced improvisers to take an honest and supportive look at your own scene work, get some good feedback and receive notes that are fair and honest.
TURNING YOUR IMPROV INTO SKETCH
How do you take a really good improv scene and turn into a really good sketch? How do you take a really bad improv scene with a really good nugget of an idea into a really good sketch? How do you take 10 mediocre sketches and develop a really good show? By Listening, Collaborating, Killing the Baby, Following the Joke and Feeling the Beats, all while avoiding Screwing the Pooch. Dave has written, directed and performed sketch shows at Second CIty and Boom Chicago with some of the best Prime Time TV, Late Nite TV and Web-based sketch writer/performers working today.
