The Institution is One of Five Amazing Improv Houses in Austin, and for one night there will be representatives from ColdTowne, The Hideout,
Merlin-Works, The New Movement, and our very own Institution staff each
taking the stage in turn to perform their own improvised morsel for a
five-course extravaganza!
Friday, January 9th, 10pm - THE FIVE FAMILIES SHOW - PART DEUX: THE JAM
For the first two-thirds of The Five Families Jam we’re just going to play together! Any Improvisor from The Five Families can play in an all-access Improv Jam on The Institution Theater stage! Then a few teachers and staff members from each Improv House will get up and do a Jam set that will awe and inspire!
Saturday, January 10th, 8pm - THE 2015 PREVIEW SHOW
The Institution is very excited about the programming it has lined up for
the coming year, so much so that we’re offering this special evening of
sneak peeks. It’s a plate of amuse-bouches, heavy on the amuse. There will be performances from the LoveFest couple Nugefield, the always delightful musical Improv troupe Girls Girls Girls showcasing their newest personas, Soccer Moms, the cast of Rock N Roll Purgatory presenting a new number from their upcoming scripted musical Crudgeon, a scary horror improv experience by The Source, scenes from the cast of Late Night Time Machine, and much, much more!
Sunday, January 11th, 8pm - THE TIT 3RD ANNIVERSARY RUBBER ROOM BONANZA
As always The Rubber Room begins with a no-pressure jam session in a safe, welcoming environment where anyone can join in the fun led by The Institution’s own teachers. Those same teachers then take the stage, first with three lottery-winning members of the audience and then with special friends of the Institution in a one-of-a-kind improv set.
