This First Thursday is Huge and Important!
Why?
Because we haven't represented hardcore enough at a First Thursday in what feels like forever. Sure, Thursday Night Awesome is going on, but First Thursday starts early and goes late. TNA is neatly tucked in the middle. Besides, most TNA performers will join the party immediately after our show.
Why? pt. 2
Because there are 12 shows this weekend (including the Main Stage premiere of Gorilla Theater, the debut of "You're Fat", Jill Morris and Rachel Madorsky's sketch show in the Double Barrel, and the debut of "Community Service" in the threefer) and it sure would be nice if the audience not only came out to see shows, but came out to see specific shows. It would be even nicer if this weekend's performers were out and about spreading the word about Austin Improv (and themselves).
Hopefully enough volunteers can make it to hand out promotional materials for the groups who can't fit it into their schedule. Just drop off your flyers in a folder and put it in the box office. I'll take them with me when I head to South Congress post-TNA.
Why? pt. 3
The ColdTowne Theater is a month away from opening. We only have one chance at doing some cool lead-up marketing and this Thursday is a big big part of that. Help support the first "other" venue for Austin Improv by joining the rest of ColdTowne, who will for sure be there packed with huge stacks of teaser flyers.
Why? pt. 4
Advertising Committee Chair Jeremy Lamb mentioned having a post-flyering meeting place for fun social time. I'll let him post and tell you where that is and what to expect.
There! Let's do this.
Any questions, comments, concerns, ideas, things to add?
RSVP here! This thread will be 5 pages long in no time!
