The Hideout Theatre Presents: Wizard School

Post by Gloria »

Flying Theater Machine presents Wizard School

Select Sundays in November and December, at the Hideout Theatre, Flying Theater Machine presents a hilarious and delightful family-friendly improv show: Wizard School!

The Flying Theater Machine encourages you to explore with us the magical (and yet mysteriously familiar) world of Wizard School! Becoming a witch or wizard isn't as easy as just waving your magic wand. You have to go to school! And at school you have to deal with the same stuff all kids everywhere have to deal with: making friends, coping with bullies and strict teachers, and trying to stay out of trouble. At Wizard School, you have all that stuff, plus a castle full of secrets, hidden passageways and rooms, eccentric professors, ghosts, and kooky mysteries, surrounded by a dark forest inhabited by beautiful and magical creatures like unicorns, centaurs, and fairies! Come discover the wonder of Wizard School, which we bring to life with suggestions and help from kids (and their parents). It's a place to expect the unexpected...because anything can happen! Everyone is encouraged to come in wizard/witch costumes (kids and parents alike)! The more the merrier! Tickets and information at HideoutTheatre.com.

Sundays at 2pm in November and December at the Hideout Theatre, 617 Congress Ave in downtown Austin.

About FTM!
Every Sunday at The Flying Theater Machine, improvisors act silly, kids laugh loudly, and parents watch happily as a new and unique story unfolds biased on the suggestions of the kids in the audience. Some of our favorite audience quotes are:

“That was so much fun!” – Kid.

“Thanks, we’ll be back next week.” – Grown-up

“I laughed so hard my sides hurt!” – Kid

“You all are amazing!” – Grown-up.

The Flying Theater Machine has been tickling the funny bones of Austin Children for the past 5 years. “I created The Flying Theater Machine as a way to bring improvisation to kids in Austin,” says Hideout Owner Jessica Arjet. “Kids gain confidence from jumping on stage, and parents get to see their children in such a positive light. Laughter brings people together, so what could be better than offering a way for families to laugh together?”
“We had a great time. The actors frequently stop and ask the audience for ideas and then the story takes off in a completely new direction, but still makes sense. The quick witted humor is excellent, yet remains clearly G rated. Very good for families and children.” –KidEvents.com

P.S. We also offer improv classes for kids!
