FACT OF THE DAY: In 1931, a 1,300-ton cargo ship called the Baychimo was abandoned near Point Barrow, Alaska. It drifted randomly around the Arctic Ocean, lodged by ice during the winters, and was seen by passing ships as late as 1969 before finally disappearing.
