Behind the music - the tragic story of ...

Hi guys!

I'm Sarah. I've studied at The Hideout and I am a musician and I'm ready to try out an idea I've had for a few months.

I would like to put together a group to do a behind the music type mockumentary. Like "This is Spinal Tap" but it could be any number of genres (because improv) depending on the imps and/or the audience. There would be segments of improvised music performed by the improvisers cut with interviews and a narrator.

Looking for improvisers versed in music theory well enough to play as a band. Whatever you play is great! As well as people to play non-band characters like spouses, groupies, executives, pawn shop owners... Who knows? People able to create and maintain strong characters. And an experienced director. The director could be a coach or be involved in the performance as the narrator. I'd love to get some people together and jam this out to see what happens.

Who's interested?

This is an amazing idea and I'd love to be involved in some way. I used to train vocally for musical theater-type stuff, but that is the extent of my musical knowledge. Would this be a film or would it be a stage show?

Stage show, for sure. It takes all kinds to make a production work so it's ok if you can't play an instrument. If we can just get another 5 or so people on board, it just might work.

I think this is a fantastic idea and a great hook for a troupe. Jump on this, people.

I am interested in this! I have a Bachelor's and a Master's in Voice Performance, but I wouldn't be comfortable playing an instrument.

You guys, Let's do it. Help me get people on board. Talk about it with people you know who might be a good fit. Share this thread on your Facebook or whatever. I want it to happen too. : )
