FACT OF THE DAY: The original painting “Washington Crossing the Delaware” was over 12 feet tall and 21 feet wide. It was sold to a museum in Bremen, Germany and was destroyed (by the British!) in a World War II bombing raid, partly because it was too large to move to a safe location.
