K.c. Harvey Taylor and I started a new podcast where we interview Austin comedians about their craft.
Each episode is separated into a few parts. We start with an interview of the guest, then move into a set of standard questions that we ask everyone, next we play a short joke writing card game together, and finally we end by sharing some music from a local artist we think people might like.

Arthur is a co-owner and founding member of ColdTowne Theater, as well as a tremendous actor, and wonderfully gifted improviser.
Also, this week's episode features a song called "Dead Battery Box Wine" by my good friends the County Lines: http://thecountylines.bandcamp.com/

Chris is a newer face in our community, and I think we had one of our best conversations yet... We talk about the UCB Theater in NY from which Chris is a graduate, and we also discuss the upcoming Nice Astronaut "Back In Townsville" sketch show he is directing.
The episode includes a commercial by Wink Planet
Aaaaand, this episode ends with our most exciting musical guest to date. The band Crying gave us permission to play one of their songs at the end of the show, and we went with the song that we had originally considered for our theme song...So, please check out more of their music here: http://wearecrying.bandcamp.com/
Please let us know over at our facebook page if you have any feedback about the show.
Thank you, and enjoy.

Big news y'all, it makes me sad me to say this after 12 amazing weeks. Your support has been tremendous...but...I'll be leaving Got Your Back podcast and the show is looking for a new host.
We want your feedback on some of the candidates we interviewed.
Let us know over on our Facebook page who you think should take over for me and join KC as co-host.
A true renaissance man of the Austin comedy scene, Mac won the 2013 Funniest Person In Austin Competition, he's a sketch writer and performer in the hilarious Stag Comedy, he improvises regularly at ColdTowne with groups like Franco (2nd Sunday of Every Month), and also co-hosts his own podcast The Mascot Wedding Show.
This episode also featuring:
A commercial by Midnight Society
A song by Fishboy.
Please let us know over at our facebook page if you have any feedback about the show.
Thank you, and enjoy.

Just wanted to say that this podcast is quickly becoming an essential part of my ear canals. The Arthur Simone episode was fantastic. I feel like you could have talked to that dude for several more hours.

Thank you so much, Jer! We appreciate the feedback.
Both Sarah and Sanjay are amazingly talented performers and downright good peeps! They also happen to be recent graduates of Coldtowne. We find out what going through classes at the theater was like for them as well as what's ahead in their creative endeavors.
Thank you for listening, and enjoy the below video of Sanjay's performance as "Doctor Death" in the opening week of Slam Team Six (improvised wrestling/comedy).
In episode 11 we sat down with Maggie Maye and better got to know the stand-up comedian and actress from Harlingen, TX. Maggie shared her delightfully honest and calming thoughts on stand-up, hosting a weekly open-mic at ColdTowne, and a whole lot more with us in this episode.
Not only did we have a wonderful conversation with the super talented and funny Erika May McNichol (The Frank Mills, Braised in Texas).
We also received permission from, hands down, the biggest and most exciting featured song to end an episode to date, "end of the line" by Hurray for the Riff Raff!
We talk with Erika about her approaches to character, improv in Austin, and Directing and playing in the Bridgeport Correctional Facility Short Form Impromptu Skit Players show (8:30pm every Saturday in June at ColdTowne).
“Bridgeport Women’s Correctional Facility Short Form Players combines competitive short-form improvisation, ladies wresting and 70’s exploitation films into a single, vulgar comedy experience.Inspired by Jack Hill’s Switchblade Sisters, cult television show Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling (G.L.o.W.) and old-school roller derby, Bridgeport is female prisoners from a north Texas incarceration unit performing short-form improvisation."
