“Dave is great at getting you to actively reflect on your personal play-style and helps you identify ways to sharpen the skills you’re already good at, as well as getting you comfortable with the idea of wielding the skills you may not use that often.”
-Adam Trabka, Bad Boys
“Brutal diagnostics, targeted exercises specific to my needs and honest feedback made this class a crucial building block for my improv. Do you want to get better? Take this class.”
- Sarah Marie Curry, Girls!Girls!Girls!
“Dave was able to identify key tendencies of mine that were hindering my improv and target them. I am so excited to apply my new-found perspective. He walked me through my own thought process, invited me to explore other ideas, and then gave me the support I needed to feel comfortable when attempting new territory in my scenes. Awesome. I watched my improv and the improv of my fellow classmates improve two-fold. It was inspiring.”
- Ruby Willmann, the Escorts
“I've had more instruction from Dave than any other teacher, and I still benefit from his coaching. He identifies and articulates aspects of your play that everyone else has missed, and I love the collegial atmosphere he creates. When you walk out of one of Dave's workshops, you not only feel like a better improviser, you also feel like a valued contributor to a working artistic community.”
- John Ratliff, Chronicle’s Best of Austin Improv Coach

NEW CLASSES IN JANUARY WITH DAVE BUCKMAN
If you disrespect your character, or play it just for laughs, it will sell some gags, but it's all technique.
It's like watching a juggler-- you'll be impressed by it, but it's not going to touch you in anyway. "
