Do you have a contact on any local radio stations???
From the AIC Ad Committee meeting, I was given the task of trying to contact local radio stations and get them to mention us on air, promote our events, give away free tickets, etc.
If you have any contacts with radio stations or any experience in this field, please get in touch with me ASAP so that I can get the delicious word out on our sweet sweet improv treat.

Re: AIC on the Radio!!
I tried to promote the Cage Match on KLBJ (Dudley and Bob morning show) for over two months. I sent numerous e-mails and called once, but got no answer. They do a lot with Cap City, so I would assume that this station is a dead end.York99 wrote:Do you have a contact on any local radio stations???

However, the JB and Sandy show may give you a plug if you send them free tickets or make them some sort of guests at an AIC show. They pimp anything on the radio if they get freebies.

Julie Moody from KUT did a short piece on Whirled News shortly after it opened. I think they're more into the "arts" than some of the commercial stations too. (I think this may be the same thing as Jeremy's talking about.)
Also, how about the student/community stations: KVRX and KOOP? They're also likely to (1) be open to promotional stuff and (2) have a good cross-over audience with improv. Sorry no real contacts, although I think John Erler of Sinus Show has?/had? a show on KOOP.

Since we're under a non-profit umbrella, we can get PSAs read/played over the air on KVRX with little trouble. One of their responsibilities for being allowed on the air by the FCC is that they serve the community by reading PSAs and such.
