Same Year's Eve Show and Party on December 31 at the Hideout

Post by acrouch »

Every year on THE EVE BEFORE New Year's Eve every improviser in Austin (potentially HUNDREDS of them) is invited to perform in this one show. We split them into just three groups and they take turns performing games, scenes, and a full blown improvised musical right before your very eyes. It's ridiculous and absurd, and it’s always a complete blast.

And then we spread out into the Hideout coffeeshop and theaters for a full blown Same Year's Eve party with food and drink (including a special batch of Orf beer if we're lucky) and toasts at midnight that we promise won't go on for too awfully long. There's usually a dance party in the upstairs theater and the cool kids smoke on the catwalk. Sometimes in the late late hours of the night we play sardines in the dark.

You should come! To play, you have to show up by 7:15pm and draw a number to see which set you're in. To watch, get your tickets online because this show sells out.

The Hideout and Austin Improv community will be providing some food and drinks, but the more the merrier, so bring something tasty or drinky.

Also, if you want to bring alcohol to drink, please restrict it to beer and wine, and keep it upstairs. The Hideout's TABC license doesn't allow hard liquor on the premises.

Beer and wine will be available from the coffee house as well, naturally.
