Sign up to compete for the title of Ultimate MC 2013.

ColdTowne will host this "competition" on Saturday Dec. 7th at 8:30pm as part of its month long Festival Festival.

Please fill out the form at the link above to sign up to compete.

The competition will involve the four challenges detailed below in which all competitors will participate.

Please note that one of the challenges REQUIRES that you have a costume to wear while you rap in character. Even if this is just slightly altering the clothes you are wearing, please come prepared for this event.

Here are descriptions of the challenges:

Round 1: 99 Blind Lines - Famous rap lyrics are written on pieces of paper and strewn about the stage. Performers will do a scene in which they have to periodically pick up a piece of paper, and incorporate the lyrics "naturally" into their scene.

Round 2: Fuck, its the police - Characters will be put into vehicles together and stopped by the police to see how they handle being hassled by the man.

Round 3: Costumed Character Freestyle - Each participant will put on a costume backstage, and then come out in character to freestyle rap as that character for a brief amount of time. Commitment is more important than rapping ability in this event.

Round 4: Hip Hop Dance Diamond - Everyone will participate in a giant "dance diamond". This is simply an improv game where a song is played, and the lights are flashed as the performers all get into a large triangle (or diamond) shape. The person at the front of the triangle facing the audience is the leader, and everyone else in the triangle follows their moves. You are free to stay in character for this portion of the competition.

At the end of an evening one winner will be awarded the illustrious title of The Ultimate MC 2013, as well as receiving a silly prize (likely some terrible booze), and a cheap trophy!
