Sketch Video Class (????)

Hi AIC,

I wanted to see if there is an interest in a Sketch Video Class in Austin. For those who don't know me, I've been in Austin since this summer, and before that I was in NYC and a Member of SCRAPS - a UCB Video Sketch Team creating content weekly for UCBComedy.com - since 2011. Some of our videos were viral hits, others were not. Based on this experience and my sketch classes over the years, I've developed an 8 week curriculum for creating original sketch vids.

There are so many benefits to creating short sketch videos for creators. If you want to act, write, or direct or all 3, it's a great way to create a portfolio of work to market yourself. Video creates another stage in town for you to express your ideas and entertain or can be an added element to your stage show. Collaborating as a group to produce the highest quality, hilarious content is a great experience for everyone involved. Also, (and this is my favorite part) you get to create a world in which you can manipulate it any way you want. Mwah-HAHAHA!!!

Seasoned filmmakers who want to hone their comedy writing skills as well as Improv and Sketch Students who want to learn production know-how are encouraged to take this class.

Here are some of the points the class would include but are not limited to;

- Types of Video Sketches and Common Pitfalls
- Writer's room 101
- Production Overview - Shooting, Lighting, Sound, Editing, etc.
- Producing on a shoestring budget aka life hacks for making great looking videos with no $$$
- Getting the clicks: YouTube insights

By the end of the class, the members will have written and fully produced one sketch video collaboratively and will have workshopped topical sketches to get them creating new videos for the weeks to come (if they so choose).
