Hey all!
Austin Nerd Slam is looking to put together an Improv vs. Slam event (think Marvel vs. Capcom). It’s going to be a nerd themed night, with nerdy improv and nerdy poetry (think Fandom meets Nerd Slam). There’s going to be one round of trivia, with both poets and improv performers competing for points. The second round will be all improv, and I am open to whatever games will go best with a competitive format, and can be judged by the audience. The third round will be slam, also judged by the audience. At the end of the night we will total all the points, with one winner from improv, one from slam, and the most cumulative points will decide if Improv or Slam wins overall. We want everyone to wear a costume, and it can be anything they want. We’d also like everyone to bring whatever props they can, anything and everthing is welcome!
Austin Nerd Slam is set for Sunday Nov. 24th at 8pm at Spiderhouse Ballroom. I’d also like to have all performers meet on Sunday Nov. 17th to run through the show format. Hey! We're still looking for more improvisers for Improv vs. Nerd Slam! We have lots of prizes for performers and audience members. Not to mention showing off your nerdy prowess!
