FACT OF THE DAY: The first “found footage” horror film is believed to be Cannibal Holocaust, an Italian picture from 1980 about a film crew that is captured and eaten by cannibals. The film’s director, Ruggero Deodato, was arrested for murder, on the belief that the cast had actually been killed. He produced the actors in court to exonerate himself.
