FACT OF THE DAY: A young Richard Branson started Virgin Airlines on the spur of the moment when his vacation flight to the Virgin Islands was cancelled. He chartered a private plane, wrote “Virgin Airlines $29” on a small blackboard, and sold the seats from his chartered plane to others on the cancelled flight.
