Could people either use an actual picture of themselves for their avatar, OR change their user name to match their real name, OR add their identity to their post signature, or some combination of the above? I don't have the brain cells to remember who "ImprovLover" is, and the Sponge Bob avi isn't helping any.
Request not applicable if you're wanting to stay anonymous, of course, but I don't think that applies to the vast majority of us.

Re: Suggestion for forum users
That's coo, but you've got to change your avatar to something other than Mr. Clean being murdered.

Re: Suggestion for forum users
I remember someone suggesting this several years ago, but I can't find that thread. I remember also this thread:
http://forum.austinimprov.com/viewtopic ... 883#p87883
I guess it's because I was on old BBSes with handles, and used forums a lot where you didn't know everyone in person prior to coming here that it's never bothered me. But I think for people who were never into online forums but came here through improv alone it can be confusing and strange.
Also, these threads might be helpful:
http://forum.austinimprov.com/viewtopic ... hess+lambo
http://forum.austinimprov.com/viewtopic ... rs#p126450
I love that the search term for how I remembered that first photo thread is Hess in the Lambo.

Re: Suggestion for forum users
So was this a joke thread after all? I feel its intended purpose was in fact reversed.
