The Solar System (AP) - Only hours after being informed that it had been 'demoted' from planet status by a council of leading Astronomers, Pluto was being surrounded by police and was rumored to have taken several hostages.
The International Astronomical Union had no comment on Pluto's recent behavior, but did state that it stood by its decision to strip the celestial body of its' planet status. Rumors have been circulating that this decision was mostly a political one, as Pluto was known for its sometimes inappropriate behavior during various research, and the now infamous "Uranus Incident" where a visibly intoxicated Pluto was seen urinating on its neighbor planet. It has also been runored that Pluto has not paid its' solar system membership fees in almost 10 years, and owes the International Astronomical Union a surprising 4.5 trillion dollars.
Police negotiators are on route to the scene and will attempt to resolve this situation without any further loss of life or property. At the time of this report, Haley's Comet was in critical condition after being assaulted by Pluto only moments after the announcement was made. Jupiter's moon, Io, was also assaulted, and died en route to a trauma facility.
More on this as it develops. - Associated Press
