Hey Guys-

So I'm trying to be an actor as well.
and I've learned that while I need Improv to function, I also need acting to be my main focus.
How does one pursue both?

Thx

(which is to say, are you asking about how you do it financially or dividing time between both or...?)

Well, I put my foot in mouth a little bit bc I showed so much passion for Improv from the beginning.
so i think for me and how I want to establish it into my life,I am trying to understand how to have passion equally.

just tackle it with the same fervor and passion. you'll find there's a LOT of crossover between the two. the one piece of advice I would give in transitioning is that scripted acting and the pursuit of it as a career requires a great deal more discipline than improv typically demands (which is not to say all improvisors are undisciplined or that discipline isn't rewarded in improv, before we head down THAT rabbit hole! ;) ). but the skills you've learned in improv are immeasurably useful, and the skills in scripted acting will feed back into your improv as well. so don't approach them as being that separate. embrace as two facets of your greater passion. 8)
