FACT OF THE DAY: In 1961, voice actor Mel Blanc was left unresponsive in a coma following a head-on car collision. After almost three weeks, a doctor asked him playfully, "Hey, Bugs Bunny! How are you?" Blanc immediately responded in Bugs Bunny's voice. For several days Blanc was able to communicate as any of his cartoon characters (but not as himself) before regaining full consciousness. Years later, on his death bed, Blanc's last words to his son were "I love you"—in the voice of Yosemite Sam.
