Musical Improv Troupe Seeks Coach

Post by strackan »

Hello, my name is Justin Strackany, and I am writing on behalf of Water Park, a musical improv troupe out of The New Movement. We do mostly narrative musicals (which we accompany ourselves on guitar) and play around with a lot of different forms (this month we're doing a Harold variation). Things are going pretty well for us. We do a monthly headlining show at TNM, just started playing at other theaters, we are headed to DCM in June, are playing festivals fairly regularly, and we have a great crew of talented performers.

So, why am I writing this post?

We need YOU (whoever you might be) to help put us over the top. We want someone to challenge our expectations, give us honest feedback (we don't mind constructive criticism) introduce some new ideas, and inspire us to reach the very height of our potential. The perfect coach would have experience in musical improv, long form formats, narrative, and have expertise in combining them to create a new, challenging show. They would also put in the work necessary to come to rehearsal with a plan and take pride in helping solid troupes take the next step in their evolution. We'd be willing to pay up to $40 / hour for the right fit (I know the going rate is $20 -25/hr), or maybe even more.

If interested, please email justin@waterparkmusic.com with some information about you (your experience, etc), why you think you'd be a good fit for us, and what your 30 day coaching plan would be as we developed our relationship.

Thanks in advance; I hope to hear from some of you soon!
