FACT OF THE DAY: Beginning in 1995, William Shatner launched and co-wrote a series of Star Trek novels based upon the premise that Captain Kirk was brought back to life after his death in Star Trek: Generations. These are referred to among Trekkies as the "Shatnerverse" novels and are not considered Star Trek canon.
