Bill Binder - Intro (1 of 6)

Hi there,

I'm Joshua Philips.
Haven't posted much on here in a while, but now I have something I would like to share with you.

I recently took the Yesand workshop with Bill Binder of Galapagos and the Torch Theater in Phoenix, AZ when he came to ColdTowne.
The workshop was really unique in that it had immediate application, but also germinated in my brain and improv for weeks until I realized it was informing just about everything scene I was doing. Definitely worth the price of admission.

I internet stalked him and found out he has an awesome website/blog: http://improv.whbinder.com/
I then emailed the guy and asked him if he could help me out with some questions I had been working with since his workshop.
He graciously accepted.

I then emailed him a long diatribe.
...And he walked his own talk and yesanded the shit out of me.

With his permission and collaboration, I am posting his notes here in separate threads, each with its own question.
I really look at improv as a way of life--not just something that you do in the theater and then leave behind when you interact with folks in "real life."
Bill's workshop really helped me out in that regard, and I thank him for that.
