Speaking of which, is anyone going? They have a sweet lineup, including The Shins, iron and wine, the new pornographers and nickel creek. I usually go for one of those days.

I scored a pair of 3-day passes from work, so I'll be going to some of this. I dunno if I can handle 3 solid days, though.

i contend that momentum from out of bounds will make crowds decent on this highly contested weekend.
any of my shows, side projects, and side shows are available that weekend.

Has the idea of offering discounts to people with ACL wristbands been raised? Most of the music is over by 9 each night, which would give people plenty of time to get to the Hideout for a late show, and the festival pulls a LOT of people from out of town who are definitely in a holiday mood.

Furthermore, not to pimp anybody but myself, but if we have improvisers who are actually going to the festival, isn't that a golden opportunity to hand out flyers or discount coupons or whatever? I would happily do this while I'm there . . . though now that I think about it, we should probably check with ACL first. I will ask my friend on the inside what their flyering policy is.

Maybe we should plan another musical maestro? It's a month away. Plenty of time.

Great idea, John. I'm down with it. Seems like musical improv would rock.

I totally support John's idea of a musical Maestro.

Well, coming up with the idea for doing a musical maestro redeems you for getting drunk and passing out when you were supposed to be scoring our film.

Good thing I had a Piano for Dummies book and came to the rescue. That scoring shit ain't so hard.

I LOVE YOU JOHN RATLIFF! I have a crush on you like all the girls.

I will squirt that swarthy hairy chested fez wearing villain in the face if he tries to take credit for your brilliant ideas. I will also keep you nice and cool at ACL. Let me be your squeeze!
I'm soft and wet!
