I scored a pair of 3-day passes from work, so I'll be going to some of this. I dunno if I can handle 3 solid days, though.nadine wrote:Speaking of which, is anyone going? They have a sweet lineup, including The Shins, iron and wine, the new pornographers and nickel creek. I usually go for one of those days.

Has the idea of offering discounts to people with ACL wristbands been raised? Most of the music is over by 9 each night, which would give people plenty of time to get to the Hideout for a late show, and the festival pulls a LOT of people from out of town who are definitely in a holiday mood.
Furthermore, not to pimp anybody but myself, but if we have improvisers who are actually going to the festival, isn't that a golden opportunity to hand out flyers or discount coupons or whatever? I would happily do this while I'm there . . . though now that I think about it, we should probably check with ACL first. I will ask my friend on the inside what their flyering policy is.

I totally support John's idea of a musical Maestro.

Well, coming up with the idea for doing a musical maestro redeems you for getting drunk and passing out when you were supposed to be scoring our film.ratliff wrote:Hey, Kareem, I got credit for your idea! Boo-yah, motherfucker!
Good thing I had a Piano for Dummies book and came to the rescue. That scoring shit ain't so hard.
