Is there any easy way to tell how many unique posters we had on Wednesday?

Not that I'm aware of. At first, I thought sorting the memberlist by last known activity would be the way to go, but that's sadly not an option. Maybe Bob knows better than I.

1. Extract all the users with a non-zero number of posts from 'memberlist.php'.
2. For each user perform a search (search.php) for posts where they are the author. (I cheated here, and only grabbed the first page of results, but there was only one user whose earliest post on the first page of results was after the 22nd)
3. Extract the dates from the search results and pair them with the user names.
4. Exclude post dates other than the 22nd.
5. Make the list unique by user and count it.

I wrote a script to do this that took significantly longer to run than to write (because the site limits how often you can perform searches).

For some reason I'm surprised by that number. It seems in keeping with the last AIC potluck, but in my head there would be three or four hundred. I'm an optimist.

I feel it probably *is* closer to 300. I can think of a good number of improvisers who didn't post that day -- and I can only imagine there are probably 50 or 60 whom I have never met that didn't post either.
