Jill Bernard's secret sister (or, "How Rumors Get Start

Well, I was Jill Bernard's secret sister in a Facebook thread for about 10 minutes, but alas, my family tree is in a different orchard than hers.

To those whom I have met or seen perform, you are amazing and inspiring. I love going to shows and watching everyone be brave. I took classes at the Hideout in 2011, then took a break to focus on music stuff for a while, so I know that a lot of you don't know who the hell I am, but I am watching you--buahahaha! (Shameless plug: my improvised music posse is called Color of Sound, and you can like us on Facebook! We're a mix of musicians with jazz, classical, and world music backgrounds, coming together to create something entirely new and nameless.)

A few of my favorite things about this community:

1. Paul's hugs and positivity; he should be the mascot of the welcomingness that is Austin Improv

2. The Confidence Men, who all have hearts of gold and kindly let me play my oboe with their badass selves

3. The creative energy that oozes everywhere. Yuck. Get that under control.

4. Laughing *with* you and *at* you (Drowning in Mitchell Deane=best ab workout of the year)

5. Stealing your pickles at the Dog and Duck (only literally, let's not get too deeply concerned)

The oval gold locket that dad gave us when he put us on different flights years ago?

I traded it for Milk Duds at school in first grade. They were so tasty. Forgive me?

Right here in my pocket. I'll scrape it out and give it to you if you're coming to Out of Bounds.

Jen Bernard is brilliant, funny, fun and amazingly huggable!

Her music is stunning and draws you in. I have heard her in the Austin Symphony and seen her turn purple playing.

It is a great and wonderful joy to be her friend.

Many hugs to you, you super star of the Oboe.

Paul, I <3 you.

Jill, this Dud's for you.

Jordan, the passing of the Milk Dud *is* the activation signal. JB power forever.
