One of the curious things about censorship is that no one seems to want it for himself. We want censorship to protect someone else; the young, the unstable, the suggestible, the stupid. I have never heard of anyone who wanted a film banned because otherwise he might see it and be harmed.

I have heard tell of a time (though all accounts were strictly secondhand or thirdhand, no one can vouchsafe where they actually were when these events occurred) that Kevin Miller challenged the Marquis to the most ancient of AIC traditions, the Maestro duel! in a first round Dance Diamond, the Marquis's quick blade shed away Kevin Miller's skin to reveal what many had long believed...a giant black bear, deadly and ferocious! the audience, believing this to be a wondrous part of the show, gave the scene a 5. the two were paired off in a Hesitation Debate in round 2, which descended into a wrestling match during which the Marquis tore away the bear's skin, revealing...Kevin Miller underneath! so it went, each subsequent round and game, the Marquis peeling away Kevin Miller suits and bear facades until in the final round...like the first mirror in a magician's vanishing portal trick, there stood the truth: a tiny Lego Kevin Miller wearing bear ears. the audience was astonished! women swooned! men harumphed! children pubesced! the Marquis made a dazzling callback to the very first scene and bowed, receiving the world's first and only unanimous score of 8 for a scene. the Maestro score board exploded, and in the ensuing panic the Lego was lost.
a week later, a fully grown and human Kevin Miller showed up at the Dog and Duck sans comment or fanfare. no one asked about nor spoke of those events for some time. nor of the fine pelts seen draped around the denizens of the Marquis's village that winter...
