Long Form Improv in Houston, San Antonio, and Dallas?

Post by scott.hearne »

Do any theaters book out of town, long form improv troupes in Dallas, San Antonio, or Houston?

I found Dallas Comedy House, but I can't find any theaters in San Antonio or Houston. Just short form and Rogue (The New Movement) in Houston.

I'm open to booking shows in Waco or College Station if the theater people at Baylor or A&M would be interested...

Thanks!

Do you know that a short-form theater *wouldn't* book a long-form troupe? Just because they only do short-form doesn't mean they're hostile to the idea, just that they're a smaller community.

(And if you're talking about the 787s montage-type format, that's really just a short-form in long-form clothing, so it shouldn't rattle too many cages.)

I have said before: There is no improv-devoted theatre in SA. Your best bet is to contact one of the comedy clubs or some of the smaller theaters in town to book on an off night...

Good point Kevin. I will contact the short form theaters in Houston.

Might not get far with Rogue/TNM, but stranger things have happened…

There is already an improv group in College Station, but you could contact them if you like. Freudian Slip, they just celebrated their 20th Anniversary.
