The Billnefit: a benefit benefitting Bill and Melissa

Post by beardedlamb »

As some of you may know, Bill Stern and his girlfriend Melissa Franke lost their apartment of roughly 8 years in Chicago to a fire recently. They also lost Charlie, their 15-year old chihuahua, and nearly everything in the apartment. While we know money cannot fully repair the damage, it sure will help them immensely in finding a new place to live, purchasing new clothes, electronics, kitchen gear, furniture, and anything else people might surround themselves with.

So, we're throwing this Billnefit to celebrate two of the greatest people we still have on this Earth. The Hideout has agreed to foot the bill for rent on the downstairs space and the downstairs folks have agreed to float us all the proceeds from drink slaes made during the show!

Come by and say hello if you've got a chance. Stay for the whole thing or just come by for some portion.

The Billnefit
Wednesday, June 20
The Hideout Downstairs 8:30-10:30pm
Admission: pay-what-you-want $5 to $20
no online sales, only walk-ups

featuring!
The Bills (an ad-hoc group of improvisers impersonating Bill Stern and doing a montage)
Available Cupholders
The Knuckleball Now
Parallelogramophonograph
You're Not My Real Dad
sneak preview of Manhattan Stories

We'll also be doing readings of things submitted by you about Bill or Melissa! You can send those to me and I'll include them in special spots in between sets. These can be anecdotes, poems, memories, or anything you want us to share.

We also need everything that is needed to put up a show: lights, sound, box office, etc. so let me know if you're interested in volunteering for that.

And if you can't make the show but want to give a little to help them out, you can do that here: http://www.gofundme.com/The-Frankenstern-Fund

Rock. I don't see it on the Hideout calendar, so remind me Wednesday morning, so I can get it in the "Tonight in" post.

Thank you to everyone who was able to come out and make the Billnefit a success including the performers, audience, tech people, and donators, some of whom were all of the aforementioned categories.

Bill thanks you mightily.
