FACT OF THE DAY:In 1967, the mayor of Montreal negotiated with Charles de Gaulle to temporarily relocate the Eiffel Tower to Montreal for that city's World's Fair. The plan was vetoed over fears that the French government would refuse to allow it to be returned to Paris.
