Synopsis:
The Yoga Games is a film that takes a satirical look at the commercialization and competitive nature of the Yoga Industrial Complex in the United States. Three competitors battle for yoga supremacy at the World Yoga Games on the fledgling YOGI television network while the world watches and Chuck and Jane, the YOGI TV’s lead color commentators provide a blow by blow of the action onstage. It’s Wrestlemania meets Olympic ice dancing. Who will win? Who will Lose? Who will care?

[LEONARD THE INCREDIBLE (OR LEONORA)] [GENDER: MALE OR FEMALE] [AGE: 18-45]
Lenard/Leonora The Incredible is a supremely confident contestant in the World Yoga Games. Yoga is his/her life and he/she want’s the world to know it. Leonard lives for the roar of the crowd at the World Yoga Games and will do anything to attract the loudest applause.
No actual ability or knowledge of yoga required, however, Leonard/Leonora must be able to maintain a yoga-like pose for several seconds and produce the appearance of extreme confidence, arrogance and neediness through physicality. Role requires wearing of a unitard or other spandex-like material, the more garish, the better. Dancers and improv artists encouraged!

[THE BLACK MAMBA] [GENDER: MALE OR FEMALE] [AGE:18-45]
The Black Mamba is a a mysterious competitor in the World Yoga Games who has an extreme phobia following a tragic near-career-ending accident. Mamba’s trademark look is a Black cape and mask. The Yoga Games are his/her comeback performance, but the cloud of a tragic past casts a pall over the proceedings.

Must be able to produce an emotional range that goes from arrogance to extreme fear through physicality. The appearance of breathing deeply is an essential part of this character’s performance. No actual ability or knowledge of yoga required, however, the actor must be flexible enough to maintain yoga-like poses for several seconds while wearing a cape and mask. Role requires wearing of a yoga- like or dance outfit that is ALL BLACK. Dancers and improv artists preferred.

[THE TITAN OF TANTRA] [GENDER:MALE OR FEMALE] [AGE:18-45]

The Titan of Tantra is the bad boy/bad girl of yoga. The Titan is good, and he/she wants the world to know it. It’s the Titan’s world and everyone else is just living in it. The Titan will do anything to win especially if it requires supreme arrogance and intimidation.

Must be able to create the appearance of extreme bravado and menace through physicality. No actual ability or knowledge of yoga required, however, the actor must be flexible enough to maintain yoga-like poses for several seconds. Role requires wearing of a yoga- like or dance outfit- the more garish, the better.

[MAMA MAMBA] [GENDER: FEMALE] [AGE: APPEARS ELDERLY]
Mama Mamba is the Black Mamba’s Mother. The Black Mamba is a competitor in the world yoga games. Mama Mamba lived through the horror of her child’s tragic, career ending injury and relays her worry to the world in an interview with YOGI TV during the World Yoga Games.
